Memphis natives Gina and Pat Neely have spread the Memphis barbecue gospel via their Food Network television show, but now the couple is bringing some brick and mortar to the Big Apple.
Neely’s Barbecue Parlor will open in Manhattan’s Upper East Side neighborhood, The New York Times reports. The restaurant will have a decidedly different feel than the original Neely’s restaurant, on Jefferson Avenue near Downtown Memphis. Barbecued mussels and cedar-planked salmon join the traditional pulled pork and ‘Memphis Style’ baby back ribs on the menu.
The restaurant, a partnership between the Neelys and New York restaurateur Adam Merchant, will open in New York July 13, according to the report.
